If you are interested in RNA regulation, translational control, cancer progression, and/or therapy resistance... (+cookies&Shenanigans): The Conn Lab is #HiringNow for Postdoc and senior research positions
@PennMedicine
Description: The Conn Lab at the University of Pennsylvania is looking for a postdoc focused on post-transcriptional gene regulation and the roles of RNA-binding proteins, RNA modifications, and signaling that are rewired during cancer progression. One project is focused on identifying the complete onco-proteome and examining unannotated proteins and their regulation in the cell during drug resistance in cancer (more mechanism to move into translational research later). The other project is looking at adaptive stress responses in pancreatic tumors and will require mouse modeling, tissue analysis, and treatments in vivo. The lab has received three awards, over another four years of funding for these projects.
Qualifications: A PhD in similar areas as: molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or biomedical sciences is required. Applicants should have a strong background/interest in RNA biology, protein synthesis/homeostasis, mouse modeling and/or cancer biology, and be interested in the application of basic science research towards clinically relevant problems faced by cancer patients. Ideally, the candidate will have <2 years of previous postdoctoral experience in a related field. They are expected to do independent research with their own analysis, grow their projects, and mentor other researchers in the lab.
Preferred qualifications for this position include experience in building RNA libraries and analysis though we have multiple collaborations for analysis as well.
To Apply: Please send a cover letter, including why you are interested in this position, a CV and name of three references by email to be considered. Email: [email protected]
