In this issue, we introduce our new award winners, review the 2010 annual meeting in Seattle and discuss the 2011 meeting in Kyoto, Japan.  In addition we have begun the search for a new CEO as Evelyn is retiring at the end of 2010. The 15th annual meeting of the RNA Society will take place on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, WA from June 22nd-26th, 2010. The deadline for submission of abstracts and registration is Monday, March 15th, 2010. You need to register before submitting an abstract so register now!</description>

      <description>The &lt;a href="http://www.union.wisc.edu/rna/index.html"&gt;14th annual meeting of the RNA Society&lt;/a&gt; will take place on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, WI from May 26th-31th, 2009. This year the meeting will open on Tuesday evening (May 26th) with presentations by our two Keynote Speakers: Dr. Shiv Grewal (National Cancer Institute, NIH) "RNAi-mediated Epigenetic Control of the Genome" and Dr. Robert Darnell (Rockefeller University) "Genome-wide RNA-Protein Maps". The deadline for submission of abstracts and registration is Monday, February 23, 2009.</description>

      <title>The RNA Society/Scaringe Young Scientist Award</title>

      <description>We wish to bring to your attention The RNA Society/Scaringe Young Scientist Award. This Award was established to recognize the achievement of younger scientists engaged in RNA research and to encourage them to pursue a career in the field of RNA. The award is open to all junior scientists (graduate students or postdoctoral fellows) from all regions of the world who have made a significant contribution to the broad area of RNA.  The award is not restricted to authors who have published in the RNA Journal. The prize will recognize one outstanding graduate student and one postdoctoral fellow based on their research accomplishments to date, a 1000-word essay describing their scientific contributions to RNA research, and a 500-word abstract for a review in their field of RNA research.       <description>We are pleased to announce the release of the &lt;a href="ressources/newsletters/Sept2008.pdf"&gt;Fall 2008 RNA Society Newsletter&lt;/a&gt;. In this issue, we showcase our award winners, provide highlights of our very exciting and successful Berlin meeting, and discuss our plans to take our annual meeting to Asia in 2011. We also review the recent and upcoming changes to our Society journal, RNA. Lastly, we ask you to take part in two social networking experiments we are performing. We have established a RNA Society LinkedIn Group and a Grad Student Facebook page. We expect these sites will help us stay in touch throughout the year.</description>
